Director-General for Northeast and Central Asian Affairs Visits Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan

1. Director-General for Northeast and Central Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kang Young-shin has visited Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. During the visit, Director-General Kang held a director-general-level meeting with Director of the Department of the Asia-Pacific Region at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yergalym NURSALIMULY and met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom KHAYDAROV to discuss bilateral issues as well as regional and global affairs.

※ The Korea-Kazakhstan director-general meeting took place on Tuesday, April 29, and the meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Thursday, May 1.

2. In these meetings, the two sides took stock of the follow-up measures to the Korea-Kazakhstan and Korea-Uzbekistan summits held in June last year; exchanged views on ways to develop bilateral relations as well as Korea-Central Asia cooperation; and agreed to continue close communication.
