I91 Route 20 and Whitehead Highway Sheet Aluminum Sign Replacement in various towns in Connecitucut

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the start of sheet aluminum sign replacements along on I-91, Route 20 and Whitehead Highway in Hartford, Windsor and Windsor Locks. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, July 7 and be completed on Friday, May 1, 2026. The project 0171-0483 consists of replacing signs and delineators on select locations on I-91, Route 20 and Whitehead Highway.

CTDOT Project No. 0171-0483 was awarded to Discount Fence LLC at a cost of $1,599,978.00 on April 24, 2025, and is scheduled to be completed on May 1, 2026. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

There will be minimal traffic operation impacts/lane closures on I-91, Route 20 and Whitehead Highway from Monday, July 7 to Friday, May 1, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Traffic control signing patterns, flaggers and state troopers will guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
