City Hall to host community vigil for Hill Country flood victims

Mayor Mattie Parker and the City of Fort Worth will host a candlelight vigil on Monday, July 14, at 7 p.m. as an opportunity to come together to grieve the lives lost and show support for those who have been affected by the flooding in the Texas Hill Country.

The vigil will take place at City Hall, and the entire community is invited to come together in solidarity with our Hill Country neighbors. Green ribbons and candles will be distributed to attendees upon arrival. City and community leaders as well as members of Parker's faith cabinet will be in attendance.

During this time, there will be opportunities to give to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, and the Fort Worth Police Department and Fire Department will collect essential supplies donations on behalf of the Salvation Army. A list of items that have been requested can be found here.

Where: City Hall, 100 Fort Worth Trail. Meet on the back porch, off Forest Park Boulevard.

When: Monday, July 14. Attendees gather at 7 p.m.; program begins at 7:30 p.m.
