Engine 51 had the opportunity to step away from the station and into the classroom this week, visiting students at Laurel Dell Elementary School for an opportunity to connect with the students and read them a crew favorite book
Firefighter Julian led the visit by reading Sprinkles the Fire Dog, a story that introduces important fire safety concepts in a fun and engaging way. The students were attentive and enthusiastic throughout the reading, showing a strong interest in both the story and the role firefighters play in the community.
Following the reading, students asked thoughtful and insightful questions about fire safety, emergency response, and daily life in the fire service. Their curiosity made for a meaningful discussion and highlighted the importance of early fire prevention education.
Engine 51 would like to thank the staff and students at Laurel Dell Elementary for the warm welcome and the opportunity to be part of their day.
