The City of Grande Prairie has declared a new two-week round of residential snow clearing beginning Friday, March 6.

This is the third rotation of 2026, and the fourth of the winter season.

The newly declared round begins with Friday Week A neighbourhoods, then continues through next week until all Week A areas are complete. Week B neighbourhoods begin Friday, March 13, then continue into the following week until the rotation is complete.

Crews aim to complete each neighbourhood on its scheduled day. If weather conditions or snow volume slow progress, crews will return to unfinished areas as the rotation continues.

Updates will be provided throughout the rotation. Residents can also track progress in real time using the residential snow clearing map at cityofgp.com/snow, which shows completed neighbourhoods and areas currently underway.

Parking reminders during snow clearing

  • Moving vehicles off the road from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on their scheduled clearing day. Temporary parking restrictions are enforced so crews can fully clear residential streets.
  • Avoiding parking where windrows are present, as parking is not permitted beside windrows at any time.
  • Remembering that permanent snow route parking bans declared February 18 remain in effect Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
