Minister of Foreign Affairs delivers a lecture to the 68th Class of the National Defence College

On 9 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered a lecture on the topic "Current Global Context and Future Trends" to the 68th Class of the National Defence College (NDC) for the academic year 2025 - 2026 at the NDC Auditorium. Participants comprised government officials, officers from independent public agencies, businesspersons and members of the general public.

The Foreign Minister underscored that the key priorities of Thailand's foreign policy amidst the rapidly changing global landscape in all aspects were to restore Thailand's standing on the international stage, to ensure that Thailand keeps pace with global developments, to align Thai diplomacy with the country's economic objectives, and to make diplomacy more accessible to the general public. These efforts are aimed at bringing Thailand back onto the world's radar screen through foreign policy approaches that are multi-dimensional, multi-directional, and forward-looking beyond Thailand.

The Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of striking a balance between advancing the aforementioned foreign policy priorities and addressing immediate issues, particularly in resolving the Thailand - Cambodia conflict and the situation in Myanmar. He also exchanged views with the lecture participants on a number of issues, such as the enhancement of Thailand's role in ASEAN, the strengthening of the country's ties with all sides, as well as the importance of a complementary approach between diplomacy and defence.
