This opinion considers the effects of screeding and slope stabilization on listed and proposed species likely to occur within the action area.

This action may affect the endangered Western North Pacific (WNP) DPS humpback whale, threatened Mexico DPS humpback whale, and endangered Western DPS Steller sea lion, along with designated critical habitat for humpback whales and Steller sea lions.

This opinion is based on information provided in the December 3, 2024, Biological Assessment (BA) and supporting information from PND Engineers, Inc. the consultant for the City of Unalaska, and by reviewing previous similar projects. A complete record of this consultation is on file at NOAA Fisheries Alaska Regional Office (AKRO).
