Chinese Ambassador to PNG Yang Xiaoguang Attends the Launching Ceremony of the “The Guide to Life for Overseas Chinese in Papua New Guinea”

On June 5, Chinese Ambassador to PNG H.E Yang Xiaoguang attended the launching ceremony of the "The Guide to Life for Overseas Chinese in Papua New Guinea" and delivered remarks. More than 50 representatives from the Chinese communities in PNG participated in the event, including Mr. Lin Huanong, President of the China-PNG Friendship Association, Mr. Qi Zhihua, Vice Chairman of the China Enterprises Association in PNG, and Mr. Li Huadong, President of Meet PNG and Publishing Director of the Guide.

Ambassador Yang extended his congratulations on the launch of the Guide, noting that members of the Chinese community serve as a vital bridge in advancing the China-PNG comprehensive strategic partnership. Ambassador Yang also gave a detailed overview of the Outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan as well as China's current economic and social development achievements. Ambassador Yang then expressed four expectations for the community: to remain devoted to the homeland, to operate in full compliance with local laws and regulations, to forge closer solidarity and look out for each another, and to actively give back to the local community. He reaffirmed that the Chinese Embassy will continue to serve the people through diplomacy and will spare no effort to ensure safety and protect legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens, organizations and bodies.
