Acclaimed Sustainability Expert Naz Named Woman of the Year

The upcoming Women at Wentworth event is set to welcome Farah Naz, a leading voice in sustainable architecture and engineering, and Wentworth Institute of Technology alumna, as its keynote speaker and Woman of the Year honoree.

Naz, whose career spans two decades and multiple continents, will bring her unique perspective and wealth of experience to the event.

Rose Conti, a prominent alumna and current Chair of the Wentworth Board of Trustees, will serve as emcee for the breakfast event. Conti is a Class of 2012 graduate, past president of the Wentworth Alumni Association, and the recipient of the 2009 Women of the Year award.

A pioneer in her field, Farah Naz, Engineering '02, is an award-winning climate change strategist. Her work has helped shape the landscape of sustainable design, particularly in the Middle East.

  • Transforming Iconic Structures: Naz has played an important role in ensuring the sustainability of landmark projects such as the Museum of the Future, Louvre Abu Dhabi, and the Expo 2020 Sustainability Pavilion.

  • Industry Recognition: Naz's contributions have not gone unnoticed. She has been honored with the Most Influential Women of the Year award (2024) and the Sustainability Consultant of the Year award (2023 and 2022), solidifying her status as a leader in the field.
  • A Multifaceted Approach to Sustainability: She is a strong advocate for incorporating innovative concepts like the Food-Energy-Water Nexus, biomimetics, and the Five Capital model of Sustainability into design and construction.
  • Professional Excellence: A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), Naz is deeply involved in professional organizations dedicated to advancing sustainability in the built environment.
