Shelby Blackstock said he ad his wife, Marissa Blackstock, plan to keep photos of their newborn baby private.

Shelby, 36, and Marissa, 33, announced earlier this week that their son, Shelby Archer McEntire Blackstock (Archie), recently made his arrival. The new dad wrote on his Instagram story on Friday (October 23), "For privacy and safety reasons, we've decided to keep Archer's face off social media for the time being. Having grown up in the spotlight myself, I know firsthand that there's nothing wrong with it. But the world is a very different place than it was in the '90s, and with that comes a different set of concerns." On the next slide of his story, Shelby Included a photo of himself as a baby and added, "But for those who are dying to know… He looks like this " The snapshot was taken in 1990.

"After everything it took to get here, we finally get to call ourselves Mom and Dad," Shelby and Marissa announced on Wednesday (October 21). "We're been taking these first few weeks just for us, and there's nowhere else we'd rather be." Marissa, who previously opened up about her IVF journey, wrote in the couple's shared pregnancy announcement earlier this year: "Oh, BOY! We're beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October. See ya real soon, pal! Mommy + Daddy love you! Shelby's mom is country legend Reba McEntire, 71, who welcomed him with then-husband Narvel Blackstock, 70. The former couple were married from 1989 to 2015. McEntire is now engaged to actor Rex Linn. Shelby and Marissa got married in February 2022.
