Johnson County Library seeks community input for Master Plan update

Johnson County Library is seeking community input for the next phase of the Library's Comprehensive Master Plan. Now through the fall, Johnson County residents and Library users from across the Metro have opportunities to share what matters most about Library services, spaces, programs and partnerships, technology and more.

The Library is partnering with BerryDunn, an independent consulting firm with experience in library and municipal and community engagement, to gather input through surveys, interactive engagement tools and conversations at community events. Look for the Library at local celebrations over the next several weeks, stop by a local branch or visit jocolibrary.org/next-chapter to add your voice to the Library's story.

The Comprehensive Library Master Plan (CLMP) was established in 2015 by the Library Board of Directors to set a 30-year framework for the Library's future. Key accomplishments over the last decade include the new Monticello, Lenexa City Center and Merriam Plaza Libraries, major renovations of Central Resource Library, most recently, the Spring Hill and De Soto branches, as well as technology upgrades across all locations and investment in the eLibrary and online resources, including Libby.

A regular 10-year review of the CLMP helps Johnson County Library stay responsive, thoughtful and ready for what comes next. Combining direct input from our community and key partners with data and expert analyses helps the Library invest wisely, avoid surprises and remain good stewards of public funds.
