Sussex County - SR 1 Closed from Bethany Beach to Dewey Beach Due to Flooding
The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) reports that SR 1 is closed between Bethany Beach and Dewey Beach due to significant flooding, including major flooding south of the Indian River Inlet Bridge.
Motorists should use US 113 as an alternate route.
DelDOT expects SR 1 to remain closed until early afternoon today, September 26, and again this evening, depending on tide cycles.
Drivers should use extreme caution and never attempt to travel through unsafe or flooded areas. Closures and other travel advisories can be accessed 24/7 at deldot.gov.
