We have proudly supported Shaw-Cum-Donnington's Village Summer Fete with a £250 donation towards the running costs of the event.
The fete, which took place on Sunday 23rd June, is a much-anticipated event in the community and drew hundreds of visitors and raised over a thousand pounds for local causes.
Donations from refreshments, book sales, and the plant sale benefitted the parish 'Relief in Need Charity.' The 3rd Newbury Scouts ran a barbecue, the WI sold homemade cakes, and the primary school PTA had various stalls and tombolas. Additionally, the popular dog show raised funds for the Trindledown Farm animal welfare trust.
There was plenty of fun to be had, with visitors enjoying the South Berks Concert Band, free children's creative activities provided by the scouts and St Mary's Church, the free bouncy castle, and vintage cars on display.
Roz Wells, Sales & Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: "We are delighted to have sponsored such a well-established event in the Shaw-Cum-Donnington community. The summer fete was a great way for family and friends to come together and enjoy the day of activities."
Taylor Wimpey remains committed to making a lasting difference in the communities in which it builds, and looks forward to continuing the support close to its Shaw Valley development.
"We were so fortunate with the weather this year, and it was lovely to see so many local people coming together to enjoy an afternoon of traditional summer activities. Many people commented on the lovely atmosphere in the park. Thank you so much to Taylor Wimpey for the generous donation."
