The Fargo Fire Department, West Fargo Fire Department and Moorhead Fire Department are welcoming the 12th class of recruits to the Joint Training Academy on Monday, January 13.

A total of 12 firefighters will be taking part of the 16-week training program. Recruits will get hands-on experience in a controlled environment, learning techniques to prepare them for real-life scenarios.

"Our communities have a great history of working well together," said Fargo Fire Chief Steve Dirksen. "The upcoming joint academy continues to build upon the relationship we've developed with our West Fargo and Moorhead partners. It ensures all recruits are trained to the same level of excellence, so we can provide the same high-quality service."

"The joint academy is a fantastic way to build and maintain relationships with our metro partners," said West Fargo Fire Chief Dan Fuller. "Having our firefighters train alongside our neighbors will ensure we can collaborate effectively when mutual aid is necessary. "

"Our Fire Department is thrilled to participate in the 2025 Joint Academy, "said Moorhead Fire Chief Jeff Wallin. "The academy continues to show the power of community collaboration and will further improve our responses to emergencies in the metro area."
