Maputo, Mozambique - A high-level meeting took place, this morning, in Maputo, between the Head of Mission of the European Union Delegation in Mozambique, Ambassador Antonino Maggiore, the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) Mission Force Commander, Commodore César Pires Correia, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas.

EUMAM MOZ was invited to attend the meeting, underlining the importance of coordination among the various European Union instruments supporting Mozambique.
Discussions focused on strengthening the EU-Mozambique strategic partnership within the framework of continued cooperation in the areas of security, stability and sustainable development.
Political and operational coordination remains essential to consolidate joint efforts and ensure a coherent response to shared challenges.
EUMAM MOZ comprises military and civilian personnel from 12 nationalities and aims to support the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces, particularly the Quick Reaction Forces (QRFs), in achieving a sustainable and self-sufficient operational cycle.
