Paul Samuel Lent Sentenced to 48 Years to Life for Multiple Sexual Acts With Children
Paul Samuel Lent of Susanville, CA, 44, was convicted of committing four felony counts of various sexual acts with two separate children between 2006 and 2016. The crimes took place in Mono, Lassen, and Shasta counties. Mr. Lent was sentenced on January 14, 2025, to life in prison and must serve a minimum of 48 years before being eligible for parole.
In early 2024, a report was made to the Mono County Sheriff's Office of sexual abuse of a child that occurred nearly 20 years prior. Upon further investigation by the Sheriff's Office and the District Attorney, it was discovered there was another, more recent victim in other counties in California. With cooperation from the Lassen County District Attorney and Shasta County District Attorney, all crimes were prosecuted in Mono County resulting in the life sentence.
Two of Mr. Lent's heinous convictions include oral copulation and digital penetration of a child who was approximately only two years old. The Mono County District Attorney's Office acknowledges and thanks the victims, and in the case of the youngest victim who thankfully does not remember the horrific actions of Mr. Lent, the victim's parent's, who had the strength and courage to report the abuse to law enforcement. Their bravery resulted in the ability to get a dangerous predator off the streets and in prison for the rest of his life.
