What to Do if You Lose or Find a Pet
Here's what to do if your pet goes missing-or if you find a lost pet in your neighborhood:
If You've Lost Your Pet:
Act fast! Check your neighborhood, talk to neighbors, and post in local Facebook groups or neighborhood apps.
Report your lost pet on Petco Love Lost - It's a free national database that uses facial recognition and geolocation to help match lost and found pets quickly. It also scans platforms like Nextdoor, Ring Neighbors, and Craigslist for possible matches.
Check your local shelters! Visit their website and in person when possible.
If You've Found a Pet:
Safely contain the pet, if possible, and check for tags.
Bring the pet to the shelter or a vet to check for a microchip.
Upload a found report to Petco Love Lost - your post could be the key to getting them home!
Share the found pet's info and photo on local community groups.
