Issues of investment, foreign economic relations, and public outreach discussed

Under the leadership of the Head of State, Uzbekistan is consistently implementing measures aimed at the comprehensive development of regions, expansion of foreign economic ties, active attraction of investments, and improvement of the system for addressing citizens' appeals.

To ensure the implementation of these priority tasks, make effective use of local potential, and align mechanisms of foreign economic cooperation with regional interests, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is paying special attention to targeted engagement. In particular, on May 7-8 of this year, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs paid working visits to the Samarkand and Kashkadarya regions.

During the visits, meetings were held with the leadership of the regional administrations, where the regions' socio-economic development programs for 2026, as well as promising areas in industry, exports, tourism, and investment, were discussed.

The parties also exchanged views on the effective organization of the business visits planned for May-June by delegations from the Samarkand and Kashkadarya regions to foreign countries. Particular attention was paid to organizing visits to the regions by representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations operating in Tashkent.

As part of the working trips, MFA representatives also familiarized themselves with the activities of several industrial enterprises. During meetings with entrepreneurs, issues related to visa processing for foreign specialists, access to foreign markets, expansion of export geography, organization of business missions, and the search for new foreign partners were discussed. Relevant agreements were reached on providing practical assistance in these areas.

In addition, mobile public receptions were organized at the People's Reception Offices in both regions. During the receptions, citizens' appeals concerning labor migration, consular and legal assistance, processing of travel documents, citizenship issues, and support for compatriots facing difficult situations abroad were reviewed.

Each appeal was thoroughly examined, and citizens were provided with legal explanations in accordance with the current legislation. Issues requiring further review were forwarded to the relevant diplomatic missions and responsible agencies and placed under supervision.

Following the visits, relevant agreements were reached on further enhancing the regions' foreign economic activity, supporting investment projects, promoting exports, and improving the system for handling public appeals.
