Census Bureau Embargo for the 2025 American Community Survey 1-Year Estimates

The U.S. Census Bureau is scheduled to embargo new 2025 American Community Survey (ACS) 1-year estimates and 1-year Supplemental Estimates two days before they're publicly released on Oct. 29.

The ACS provides a wide range of statistics about the nation's people and housing, such as language spoken at home, education, commuting, employment status, mortgage/rent status, income, poverty and health insurance coverage. It is the only source of local estimates for most of the 40-plus topics it covers.

The 1-year estimates and Supplemental Estimates will be available to embargo subscribers beginning Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. ET for states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, congressional districts, metropolitan statistical areas, and other geographic areas that meet the product's publication threshold. The publication thresholds are populations of 65,000 or more for the ACS 1-year estimates and populations of 20,000 or more for the 1-year Supplemental Estimates.

Embargo subscribers will have access to these statistics from Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. ET to Thursday, Oct. 29 at 12:01 a.m. ET. Wire and distribution services are prohibited from distributing embargoed news stories and data files before the public release date and time. For more information, refer to the Census Bureau's embargo policy. All data products on data.census.gov, the API, summary files and other tools will be made publicly available by 10 a.m. ET on Oct. 29.
