INDIANAPOLIS - The Penn State Altoona men's golf team's participation in the upcoming NCAA Division III Championship was made official on Monday, May 12, when the DIII Men's Golf Committee announced the Lions as one of the 43 teams in its postseason field.

The 2025 NCAA Division III Championship will be held May 20 through May 23 at Midvale Country Club in Penfield, N.Y. After 36 holes of competition, the 43-team field will be cut down to the top 18 teams and top six individual golfers not on one of those teams.

Penn State Altoona men's golf clinched its berth to the NCAA Division III Championships last October when the Lions won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference for the ninth time in program history and earned the league's automatic bid to compete in the NCAA postseason. Penn State Altoona will make its eighth-ever NCAA Division III tournament appearance, and it is also the fourth consecutive year that the Lions have qualified for the DIII national postseason.

The Division III Championship field is comprised of 34 teams that received automatic qualification berths by winning their respective conference titles, as well as nine additional teams that got at-large bids. A total of 225 individual participants will compete in next week's tournament.

This year's NCAA Division III Championship is hosted by St. John Fisher University and the Rochester NY Sports Commission.
