With a humanist foreign policy that prioritizes cooperation and dialogue, President Claudia Sheinbaum has gained international recognition for her participation in the G7 Summit in Canada, the G20 Leaders' Summit in Brazil, her proposal to hold a CELAC Summit for the Economic Wellbeing of Latin America and the Caribbean, the Summit for the Defense of Democracy in Spain, and many others.
The President has repeatedly affirmed that Mexico is ready to serve as a bridge between regions, cultures, and economies, and that the country is open to the world and committed to building the best possible relationships with all nations, always based on full respect for Mexico's sovereignty and constitutional framework.
With this in mind, since taking office the President has pursued an ambitious international agenda and received heads of state to deepen cooperation, with a single goal: ensuring that every effort translates into shared prosperity and wellbeing for our peoples.
Among the most notable encounters are her meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and European Union leaders Ursula von der Leyen and António Costa.
These meetings have established Mexico as a key strategic partner on the world stage, not only because of its privileged geographic location, but because of the strength of its workforce, its values, and the pride it takes in its roots and cultural wealth.
In an era of major geopolitical challenges, Mexico has everything it needs to establish itself as a productive, just, and sovereign power. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, the country attracted a record USD 23.591 billion in foreign direct investment.
Mexico will continue advancing its bilateral agenda with the United States on the basis of the core principles of its foreign policy: respect for territorial integrity; shared but differentiated responsibility; mutual trust; and cooperation without subordination.
With a shared border of more than 3,000 kilometers, 40 million Mexican nationals living in the United States, and deeply integrated economies, Mexico will always prioritize finding common ground on every topic of the bilateral agenda for the benefit of both societies.
Twenty months into President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo's administration, Mexico's voice is heard and respected around the world. The principles that have historically defined Mexican foreign policy - non-intervention, the self-determination of peoples, the peaceful settlement of disputes, and development cooperation - will continue to guide Mexico in a time of great global challenges.
