Update #4 - Navarre Beach Restoration Project

Wed., Jan. 15, 2025 - The Navarre Beach Restoration Project continues to make steady progress along the beach. The project began on Mon., Dec. 23 on the west end of Navarre Beach. Phase 1 is expected to be completed by the weekend and Phase 2 is already complete. Restoration is expected to begin within Phase 3 of the project by late this week, f rom Beach Access #39A west to Beach Access #38B .

During the transition to Phase 3, heavy equipment will move pipes from the first subline location (7631 Gulf Blvd.) to the second subline location (near Beach Access #39A). The staging area will also be moved from Beach Access #37A to the east end of the Navarre Beach Pier parking lot by Friday, Jan. 17. All work is weather and mechanical-issue dependent and dates may not be exact.

The public is advised to refrain from entering restricted areas of Navarre Beach during the ongoing beach renourishment project. For safety reasons, residents and visitors should wait until these areas have officially reopened before accessing renourished sections to search for shells.

Beaches surrounding the construction area will be open to the public and sand ramps will be placed over the pipeline to allow beachgoers access to the gulf.

Crews will operate 24/7, including holidays, and will place around 700 feet of sand per day. Each phase is expected to take around seven days. The restoration limits are from approximately 900 feet east of the Navarre Beach Pier and continue west to the Gulf Islands National Seashore property. Weather permitting, the estimated 30 days of sand placement is expected to be completed by late January 2025. Endangered species monitoring and relocations, including for sea turtles, will be performed by Santa Rosa County consistent with the county's environmental permits.
