People behind the pipes: Celebrating Water Professionals Appreciation Week

Water shapes our daily lives in countless ways. From the moment we brush our teeth in the morning to watering plants in the evening, it quietly supports our health, our homes, and our communities.

Behind every drop, a team of skilled water professionals ensures that clean, safe water is available when we need it and that wastewater is carefully treated and returned to the environment.

Roseville is proud to stand with communities across California to celebrate Water Professionals Appreciation Week, held October 4-12, honoring the more than 60,000 dedicated individuals who protect our most vital resource and keep water systems flowing strong every single day.

"Our team shows up every day to make sure Roseville has the water it needs," said George Hanson, Water Utility Manager. "Their hard work keeps our Roseville residents healthy, supports sustainability, and makes life better for everyone."

In Roseville, water and wastewater professionals handle a wide range of responsibilities. They operate treatment plants that provide clean drinking water, manage groundwater wells, repair and maintain miles of distribution pipelines, and ensure sewer systems are safe and functional. Every task, from small repairs to large-scale operations, plays a role in keeping our community running.

The work of these men and women may often go unseen, but it touches every part of daily life. They respond to emergencies, solve problems quickly, and plan for the future to ensure water services remain safe and reliable. Their expertise and commitment are the backbone of our city's health and growth.

Every drop of water has a story. Every professional has a role. Together, they create a system we can trust and rely on every single day. During Water Professionals Appreciation Week, we celebrate their dedication, skill, and the essential services they provide to our community.

Meet some of the incredible individuals that help keep the water flowing in our community.
