Pinellas Update #2: Sandbag locations announced ahead of potential Tropical Cyclone 9

Sandbags will be available while supplies last at the County and municipal locations listed below on Tuesday, Sept. 24, and Wednesday, Sept. 25. Please note that sandbags are only effective in slow-moving water that is no more than 15 inches deep. Learn how to use sandbags and what other alternatives may be available at disaster.pinellas.gov.

Unincorporated Pinellas County:

• John Chesnut Park, 2200 East Lake Road S., Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 7 a.m. to noon. Note: John Chesnut Park will otherwise be closed to the public during sandbag operation hours.
• Pinellas and City of Clearwater: Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex, 2450 Drew Street, Clearwater; sunrise to sunset on Tuesday and 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. Unincorporated Pinellas and City of Clearwater residents only. Residents are encouraged to bring their own shovel.

Note: Additional sites may be opened and will be announced accordingly.
