WTAS: Wide Acclaim for Congressman Bean’s HSA’s For All Act

WASHINGTON-Amid rising healthcare costs and a growing need to put patients in the driver's seat, U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean introduced the HSA's For All Act. This targeted legislation expands access to Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), giving hardworking Americans greater flexibility and control over how they spend their healthcare dollars.

The introduction of H.R. 7681 has drawn widespread praise from business leaders, health policy experts, and industry voices across the spectrum:

HealthEquity Vice President John Desser: "Congressman Aaron Bean's (R-FL) 'HSAs for All Act' will make HSAs available for as many as 100 million Americans, giving them more direct control over their healthcare spending and empowering them to better prepare for both their health and financial needs. When consumers are empowered, they actively engage in their healthcare decisions, save for future expenses, and seek the best value in health care. As one of the country's leading HSA custodians, we've seen how important HSAs are for health care consumers. HealthEquity strongly supports this consumer-first approach that puts the American healthcare consumer at the center of healthcare."

Council for Affordable Health Coverage President Joel White: "Our health care system is seriously off track, and the number one problem is affordability. Health costs are rising three times faster than wages. Because health costs are rising faster than income, affordability is getting worse. Congressman Bean's bill will help reverse these trends, providing relief to an additional 150 million Americans who would gain access to more affordable coverage and lower health costs."

Great American Health Alliance President Keith Nahigian: "President Trump called on Congress to act and put patients back in control of their health by moving federal health dollars out of bureaucracy and into the hands of the people. Congressman Aaron Bean's bill to expand HSA access for every American will empower consumers and we are proud to support it. In addition to being aligned with the President's agenda, this is politically popular, with 73% of voters wanting their money to be put into 'Healthier Spending Accounts."

National Federation of Independent Business Federal Government Relations Principal Tyler Dever: "Small business owners want more affordable and flexible health care options for their employees. Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) are an important option that allows small businesses and their employees to save hard earned money for medical expenses. Unfortunately, HSAs are limited to people enrolled in high-deductible health plans, limiting their potential to reduce health costs. Small businesses thank Congressman Bean for introducing legislation that expands HSA eligibility. This gives small business owners and their employees another proven tool to lower costs and put the consumer back in charge of their health care needs."

ERISA Industry Committee Senior Vice President Health Policy Melissa Bartlett: "ERIC applauds Congressman Bean for his leadership on the HSA's For All Act. Congress created HSAs over twenty years ago and, while helping many employees plan for and offset the cost of their health care, Congress should enact measures such as this bill to match what employees need to better mitigate the impacts of the rising costs of care to their pocketbooks."

Comprehensive list of stakeholders supporting H.R. 7681 include: Americans for Prosperity, Assimilated Solutions, Biomarker Collaborative, Center for a Free Economy, Council for Affordable Health Coverage, ERISA Industry Committee, Goodman Institute, Great American Healthcare Alliance, HealthEquity, International Cancer Advocacy Network, MET Crusaders, National Federation of Independent Business, National Taxpayers Union, Nomi Health, Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council, The ERISA Industry Committee, The LIBRE Initiative, and U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
