Rev. Sharpton, Family of Excenia Mette to Announce Funeral Arrangements for Beloved Community Member Before Procession to Site Where She Was Tragically Killed
New York, NY (April 25, 2024) - Rev. Al Sharpton, Founder and President of the National Action Network (NAN), will stand with the family of Excenia Mette this Saturday morning during NAN's Saturday Action Rally at the House of Justice to announce funeral arrangements for the beloved community member and longtime member of NAN. Mette, who was 61, was gunned down Tuesday night outside her home in Harlem.
Immediately following the rally, Rev. Sharpton will lead the family and NAN members in a solemn walk to the location where Mette was killed at 113th Street and Lenox Avenue, where a wreath will be laid in her memory.
Immediately following her killing, Rev. Sharpton pledged that NAN would stand with the family of Ms. Mette, who was affectionately known as Zeenie, through this tragedy.
