Pasadena Drinking Water System in Eaton Fire Evacuated Areas Under Do Not Drink Notice

PASADENA, Calif.- Due to the Eaton Fire and severe wind conditions, the State Water Control Board, Pasadena Public Health Department, and Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) Water advise Pasadena residents in the evacuated areas tonot use tap water for drinking and cooking until further notice.

  • In the evacuated areas, do not drink tap water - Bottled water should be used for all drinking (including baby formula and juice), brushing teeth, washing dishes, making ice and food preparation until further notice. This also applies to pets and domestic animals. Additionally, do not try to treat the water yourself. Boiling, freezing, filtering, adding chlorine or other disinfectants, or letting water stand will not make the water safe to drink.

For a copy of the do-not-drink notice, visit PWPweb.com. The City of Pasadena will inform the community when tests show that the water is safe again. Expected timeframe for resolution is dependent on the rapidly evolving fire, wind, and related conditions. For more information, call PWP's 24-Hour Emergency Line, (626) 744-4138.
