City of Montgomery Parks and Rec Announces Updated Public Pool Hours as Summer Program Concludes

As Montgomery's Summer Program comes to a close, the City of Montgomery Parks & Recreation Department has announced updated operating hours for its public pools, ensuring residents can continue to enjoy safe, family-friendly aquatic activities throughout August and into early September.

Pools Currently Open

Only three city pools remain open for public use at this time:
• Houston Hill Pool
• Sheridan Heights Pool
• Gunter Pool

Hours Through August 7

Leading up to August 8, pools will continue operating under the recently adjusted post-Summer Program schedule:

Houston Hill & Sheridan Heights Pools
• Monday-Friday: 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. & 1 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
• Saturday-Sunday: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Gunter Pool
• Monday-Sunday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Admission remains $2 cash only for swimmers ages 6 and older, while children 5 and under swim free. To support safety and expedite entry, clear bags only are permitted.

Special Hours for August 8

On Thursday, August 8, pool schedules will shift to accommodate a major back-to-school event:

Houston Hill & Sheridan Heights Pools
• Open 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Gunter Pool
• Closed for the Teen Back to School Pool Party

Following the citywide event, public pool operating hours will transition for late summer:

Houston Hill & Sheridan Heights Pools
• Closed Monday-Friday
• Open Saturday-Sunday: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Gunter Pool
• Open daily: Monday-Sunday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
