Mercyhealth to hold Project SEARCH graduation Friday

Mercyhealth is excited to host the 2026 Project SEARCH graduation ceremony on Friday, June 5, 9 am, at Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center, 1000 Mineral Point Ave., Janesville. Media may enter the main hospital lobby, where they will be escorted to the graduation ceremony.

Project SEARCH is a nine- to 12- month program that provides training and education leading to competitive employment for individuals with cognitive disabilities. The selected students work in three internships throughout the year, supervised by a Mercyhealth mentor and supported by a program skills trainer. Over the course of the program, interns participate in a total work immersion experience, which includes classroom instruction, independent life skills and career exploration. Each intern works with a team that includes their family, an instructor, a department mentor, a rehabilitation counselor, skills trainers, a job developer and a school district case manager to create an employment plan as they transition from school to work.

Mercyhealth is proud to announce that nine individuals will be graduating from the program, culminating a year of collaboration between the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Community Solutions, School District of Janesville, School District of Milton, School District of Monroe, Wisconsin School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Whitewater Unified School District and Mercyhealth.
