WASHINGTON - Today, Representative Lou Correa (CA-46) voted against federal funding legislation that included a two-week continuing resolution to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and released the following statement:
"Today, the House voted on government funding legislation that included a two-week continuing resolution to fund DHS and ICE-setting aside any guardrails that might exist and giving the Department the greenlight to continue business as usual terrorizing our communities.
"ICE has become a paramilitary organization that has arrested American citizens, collected biometric information of American citizens, assaulted American citizens, and killed American citizens.
"The agency has strayed far from its founding mission to protect Americans from foreign terrorists. I will continue to oppose funding for DHS and ICE."
