10 ways to conquer midterms like a Warrior

Midterms can sneak up fast, and it's easy to feel buried under books and deadlines. But Warriors know how to push through with focus, balance, and a little green-and-gold spirit. With the right mix of strategy, campus resources, and self-care, you'll not only survive midterms - you'll thrive. Wayne State is here for you, helping make sure Every Warrior Rises.

Here are 10 ways to tackle midterms like a true Warrior:

1. Make a study schedule
Don't play the all-nighter game. Break your review into smaller blocks of time. The Academic Success Center offers structured study sessions that use the Pomodoro Technique - four rounds involving 25 minutes of focused study followed by short breaks. Book a spot and keep your brain sharp.

2. Find your campus study spot
There are many study spots across campus. Need total silence? Head to the David Adamany Undergraduate Library (UGL). Want a little buzz around you? Try the Student Center.

3. Tap into tutoring and mentoring
Don't wait until you're stuck. The Hub, located on the first floor of the UGL, offers free tutoring and writing support to keep you on track.

4. Visit your professors
Office hours aren't just for emergencies. Drop by to clear up confusing material or get advice straight from the source. Pro tip: Building those connections now could help you later on.

5. Join a study group
Learning with others is one of the best hacks out there. Team up with classmates, join a study session or check with your student orgs. Explaining concepts to others helps you master them too. The second floor of the UGL has whiteboards and group tables that are perfect for study sessions. Reserve a study room at the UGL.

6. Take care of your body
Coffee is great, but real fuel matters. Grab a balanced meal on campus and keep your energy up. Then recharge at the Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center with a quick workout, yoga class, or stress-busting session.

7. Protect your mental health
Feeling the pressure? Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is here for you with confidential support and wellness workshops. Midterms are tough, but you don't have to go through them alone. CAPS also offers group sessions.

8. Get enough rest
All-nighters can be draining. Sleep is your real superpower. Aim for quality rest so your brain is ready to crush test day.

9. Celebrate your progress
Finished a big exam or finally submitted that paper? Treat yourself. Go to a Warrior event or just hang out with friends. Small celebrations can keep you motivated.

10. Remember, you've got this
Midterms are a challenge, but they're also proof of how far you've come. Take it one step at a time - and remember, Warriors always rise to the occasion.
