New Castle County - Twaddell Mill Road Closure for Bridge Replacement
The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces the closure of Twaddell Mill Road between Montchanin Road (SR 100) and Kennett Pike (SR 52) starting on September 21, 2026, for the replacement of BR 1-084.
The closure will be in place 24 hours a day until November 30, 2026. Work will occur daily from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Motorists traveling northbound at the intersection of Twaddell Mill Road, Owls Nest Road, and Kennett Pike (SR 52) will turn right onto Kennett Pike, turn left onto Center Meeting Road, turn left onto
Montchanin Road (SR 100) and then proceed north to Twaddell Mill Road.
Motorists traveling southbound at the intersection of Twaddell Mill Road, and Montchanin Road (SR 100) will continue south onto Montchanin Road (SR 100), turn right onto Center Meeting Road, then turn right onto Kennett Pike (SR 52) and proceed north to the intersection of Twaddell Mill Road, Owls Nest Road and Kennett Pike (SR 52).
Motorists are advised to drive safely in work zones and plan for extra travel time.
