Investigation underway after fatal stabbing in Marrickville

An investigation is underway after the fatal stabbing of a man in Sydney's Inner West last night.

About 7.40pm (Monday 23 September 2024), emergency services responded to reports of a man being stabbed on Marrickville Road, Marrickville.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command attended and located an unconscious man on the footpath.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 32-year-old man, however, he died at the scene.

Strike Force Nogales has been established to investigate circumstances surrounding the death, with the assistance of detectives from State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.

As the investigation continues, anyone with information, CCTV footage, dashcam vision and/ or mobile phone footage in relation to the incident, are urged to contact Marrickville Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
