Muskingum University is pleased to announce the appointment of Molly Dunn as the inaugural Associate Vice President for External Engagement, a newly created leadership position in the Office of the President. This strategic role reflects Muskingum's bold commitment to advancing initiatives that position the University as a catalyst for regional workforce development, educational access, and economic growth.
In this role, Dunn will lead university-wide efforts to expand Muskingum's impact across the region by cultivating cross-sector partnerships, aligning academic programs with workforce needs, and strengthening early talent pipelines. She will also facilitate the University's government relations strategy, advocating for policies that increase access, affordability, and educational opportunity at the local, state, and federal levels.
"This position was created to support Muskingum's transformational vision and to accelerate our efforts in responding to the region's evolving workforce and economic needs," said Muskingum University President Susan S. Hasseler. "Molly Dunn brings a deep understanding of our mission and a proven record of success in building impactful partnerships that benefit our students and communities."
Dunn previously served as Executive Director of Muskingum's Impact Center, where she successfully launched and led the University's new hub for career development and employer engagement. Under her leadership, the Impact Center became a vital connector for students and employers, expanding access to internships, career readiness programming, and experiential learning.
As Associate Vice President of External Engagement, Dunn will lead workforce development efforts that connect students with high-demand career pathways and experiential learning opportunities. She will partner with regional employers to co-develop training programs and upskilling strategies that address current and emerging workforce gaps. In collaboration with the Impact Center and University leadership, she will work to strengthen student internship pipelines and post-graduation outcomes. Additionally, Dunn will represent Muskingum in regional and state forums focused on economic revitalization and rural development and will coordinate strategic communications and presidential engagements to ensure alignment with institutional values and priorities.
Through this newly created role, Muskingum is deepening its commitment to being a trusted educational partner and a key contributor to the region's long-term economic well-being.
