The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 1 Guilford. This project is scheduled to occur on Monday, September 21 and be completed on Friday, October 9, 2026. The project DOT01730557CN "B" consists of milling and resurfacing a 2.63-mile segment of Route 1 in Guilford between York St at Bridge #6295 at West River and the Madison town line. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Tilcon on Monday, September 21 to Monday September 28, 2026. The resurfacing segment of this project by Tilcon is anticipated to begin on Monday, September 28 to Friday, October 9, 2026.
This project is included in CTDOT's 2026 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 1 in Guilford between York Street and the Madison town line. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday Night to Friday morning.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
