MTA Chair and CEO Lieber Reacts to Court Decision Green-Lighting Congestion Relief

Following a decision on Friday evening, Jan. 3, 2025, from Federal Judge Leo Gordon in Newark, N.J., that confirmed congestion relief tolling could proceed in Manhattan's Central Business District, MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber had a good conversation with New York Governor Kathy Hochul to discuss moving forward.

Congestion Relief Zone tolling will begin just past midnight Sunday (late Saturday night into early Sunday) with a peak charge of $9 for automobile drivers and $2.25 overnight.
