Oct. 22 meeting for businesses, organizations interested in hosting events along 2 Line

In anticipation of thousands of soccer fans staying at Eastside hotels and other lodgings while the World Cup is in Seattle next summer, the City of Bellevue is inviting businesses and cultural organizations to host celebrations along the 2 Line corridor then.

Small businesses, local artists, cultural organizations, nonprofits and creative entrepreneurs can learn about grants for World Cup-themed activations at a meeting at City Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 4-6 p.m.

Activations will take place on six match days in June and July 2026, coinciding with Seattle's World Cup games. The Bellevue Downtown Association, Visit Bellevue Washington and other organizations will give grants and other support to those hosting activations.

The city is seeking imaginative, inclusive and globally inspired ideas that celebrate the spirit of the tournament and vibrancy of our region. These activations should enhance not only the transit experience of community members and visitors making their way to the games, but also entertain people not making a trip on the 2 Line.

At the Oct. 22 session, those interested in hosting events will meet city staff and community partners, learn about the activation timeline, get details on funding and partnership opportunities and share ideas for World Cup celebrations. A soccer-themed mixer will follow the presentation.
