United Rentals, North America's largest equipment rental company, has announced a significant five-year sponsorship agreement with Boise State's College of Engineering to support the Construction Management program as the "Official Equipment Rental Partner of Boise State Construction Management."
The sponsorship will provide essential construction equipment for the program's new facility, including priority access to commercial trucks and warehouse forklifts, along with maintenance, instruction and marketing collaboration.
"I couldn't be more excited about what this partnership means for our students," said Anthony Perrenoud, the William H. McMurren Endowed Chair of Construction Management. "United Rentals' equipment support will directly enhance our hands-on lab curriculum and allow us to expand the community projects our program has become so well known for. This is industry and education working together to build something great: the next generation of construction professionals."
This new agreement, formalized in June by Ryan Eaton, Vice President of United Rentals' Midwest Region, and the Boise State University Foundation includes co-branding opportunities on university-loaned equipment and internal signage in the equipment building. Additionally, United Rentals will also provide educational collaborations and training opportunities for Construction Management students.
"Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work with many great leaders who came through Boise State's Construction Management program," said United Rentals' Midwest Region Vice President Ryan Eaton. "Seeing the impact these graduates have made across our industry makes this partnership especially meaningful. We are proud to support the construction management program and help provide students with the hands-on experience, equipment and connections that will prepare them to lead the future of construction."

The program's success has been built with a blue collar approach to provide construction managers with hands-on learning experiences, simultaneously providing project management and leadership training. Construction careers are in high demand, the CM Department is one of the fastest growing programs on campus.
By strengthening local industry connections, the agreement demonstrates both organizations' commitment to sustained educational support and workforce development in Idaho's construction industry.
"United Rentals' sponsorship of our CM program allows our students to have cutting-edge, hands-on training," said Argia Beristain, CEO of the Boise State University Foundation. "That training enables our graduates to immediately enter the workforce as skilled workers in high-demand industries. We are grateful for United Rentals' generosity and the impact it will have on our students, our university and the region."
The new ESI Construction Management Building will provide enhanced learning environments for students pursuing careers in one of the region's most vital industries. This official sponsorship represents a significant advancement in industry-academic collaboration, providing Construction Management students with direct access to commercial-grade equipment and industry expertise throughout their education.
