Moulton Joins as an Original Cosponsor Requiring DHS to Maintain Timely Locator System for ICE and CBP Detainees

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Seth Moulton (MA-06) has joined as an original cosponsor of the Find Our Families Act, introduced by Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (MI-12). This legislation would require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to maintain a modern, accurate, and transparent online locator system for all individuals detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

The bill mandates that the database include real-time, reliable information on arrests, detention locations, and transfers.

"Basic due process and accountability are fundamental American rights and values, regardless of your immigration status," said Congressman Moulton. "Right now, there is zero accountability at DHS. Families and lawyers are spending days or weeks playing guessing games just to find out where someone is being held. That is a total failure of basic oversight and a violation of fundamental due process. If a federal agency can't even maintain an accurate, transparent tracking system, they need to be held to account immediately. I'm proud to support Congresswoman Tlaib's effort to demand basic transparency and put an end to this systemic incompetence."
