YSB Ethiopia

YSB Ethiopia hosted a two-day event on September 19-20, 2025, showcasing youth-led initiatives that leverage digital tools for social impact. The event brought together approximately 15 youth organizations and 6 support organizations, and was attended by over 100 young people. The opening ceremony was officiated by EUD Ambassador Ms. Sofie From-Emmesberger and former Chief Justice Ms. Meaza Ashenafi, who marked the occasion with a ribbon-cutting.

The event facilitated networking, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration among young changemakers, policymakers, and development partners. It empowered youth by providing opportunities to present their initiatives and make lasting connections. Simultaneously, expert-led masterclasses were held on the following topics:

  • Green Deal: "Innovative Youth-Led Solutions for Sustainable Climate Action: Creating Pathways for a Resilient Future" led by Helina Teklu, World Food Forum Ethiopian Youth Chapter Lead.

  • Human Development: "Education for Empowerment: Innovative Learning Methods for Youth" led by Ephrem Berhanu, Co-founder and Managing Director of TaYA.

  • Governance and Peace: "Advancing Youth, Peace & Security: From UNSCR 2250 to National Action Plan Development" led by Samuel Worku Telayneh from the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator.

The YSB Youth Expo was a major success, achieving its objectives to connect youth organizations with relevant partners, create synergies, and provide a platform for them to showcase their work.
