Developments in the Danish economy are stable and balanced. But the world around us is becoming harder to predict. In a speech at the Confederation of Danish Industry on 22 April 2026, Governor Signe Krogstrup pointed to three factors creating uncertainty: energy prices, trade barriers, and artificial intelligence (AI). Higher energy prices and trade barriers are weighing on global growth. Conversely, AI may improve growth prospects, but it is uncertain how and when, and there are risks associated with AI.
