Lindley Creek Set to Perform at Bluegrass Monday Concert

11/15/2024

JONESBORO - The band Lindley Creek will perform bluegrass versions of classic Christmas songs at the next KASU-FM Bluegrass Monday concert.

The show will begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, at the Collins Theatre, 120 West Emerson Street, in Paragould.

From the Ozark Hills of Missouri, Lindley Creek is a family musical group that performs a mixture of bluegrass, acoustic, Americana and gospel music.

Mom Kathie Greer plays guitar and sings; dad John Greer plays bass. Daughter Katie Greer Hutson sings and plays mandolin; her husband Nathaniel Hutson plays guitar and Cajon. Son Jase Greer sings and plays fiddle, and his wife Caroline Greer plays the Dobro and sings.

The Greer family began playing music together as a pastime when their children were young. In 2009, John and Kathie quit their full-time jobs to take the family on the road as full-time bluegrass musicians. Since then, the family has traveled across the country, appearing at hundreds of bluegrass events.

Through the years, Lindley Creek recorded numerous self-produced bluegrass albums. In 2020, Lindley Creek was signed to the prestigious bluegrass label Pinecastle Records and the group released its first major-label album, Freedom, Love, and the Open Road.

That album included songs featured on bluegrass radio stations nationwide, including the SiriusXM satellite radio Bluegrass Junction channel. With that radio airplay, songs from that album made the top ten of the Bluegrass Today radio airplay charts.

Following the success of that first Pinecastle album, Lindley Creek was recognized with two nominations for the 2021 International Bluegrass Music Association's Momentum Awards.

Lindley Creek was nominated in the Band of the Year category and the Vocalist of the Year category (for Katie Greer). A follow-up album for Pinecastle Records was released in 2023.

For the past four years, Lindley Creek has performed over 40 days per year at Silver Dollar City, and the band will be presenting their Branson-style Christmas show at this Bluegrass Monday concert.

More information about the group is available at www.lindleycreek.com

Tickets to the Bluegrass Monday concert are $10 per person, payable by cash at the door the night of the concert. Everyone aged 18 and under will be admitted free. Advance tickets can be purchased here.

Theatre doors open at 6:00, and seating is first-come, first-served.
