YORK COUNTY WOMAN ARRESTED FOR TAX EVASION, FAILURE TO FILE

SCDOR agents arrested a York County woman on Friday and charged her with two counts of tax evasion and one count of failing to file a state Individual Income Tax return.

Leigh Flynt Kohn, 43, of York, is accused of excluding at least $281,000 of income on her 2023 and 2024 state Income Tax returns. The warrants also allege that Kohn failed to file a state Income Tax Income Tax return for tax year 2021, as was required by law based on her gross income.

According to warrants, the unreported income was the result of funds Kohn allegedly stole from her employer. She owes a total of $23,542 in South Carolina Income Tax.

If convicted, Kohn faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison and/or a fine of $10,000 for each count of tax evasion. She faces a maximum sentence of one year in prison and/or a fine of $10,000 for the charge of failing to file a state tax return. She is being held in the York County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
