On Monday, President Gitanas Nausėda extended congratulations to King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands on his birthday and the National Day of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The President highlighted that Lithuania and the Netherlands are like-minded countries, successfully cooperating within NATO, the European Union, and other multilateral frameworks.
"We are grateful to your country for its significant contribution to strengthening the defense and security of the Baltic Sea region and NATO's entire eastern flank. Your country's troops serve in the NATO multinational battlegroup, which this year became an integral part of the German brigade deployed in Lithuania. The Netherlands also makes a significant contribution to strengthening Lithuania's air defense, including through the deployment of Patriot systems during exercises. We value the successful cooperation between our countries in security and defense and firmly believe that we will continue our joint efforts to enhance the security of our nations and our people," the message of congratulations reads.
The President underlined Lithuania's determination to continue fostering comprehensive dialogue between the two countries by developing closer political, economic, and cultural ties. He also expressed confidence that in the future Lithuania and the Netherlands will find ways to develop new bilateral and multilateral initiatives that contribute to the well-being of their people.
On national day, Gitanas Nausėda wished the King of the Netherlands and all the people of this country every success, prosperity, and well-being.
