01/24/2025 - Fones Rd Upcoming Evening Work

Building a Safer Street for Everyone
Notice of Upcoming Evening Work

Starting in the evening on Monday, January 27, construction crews will carry out potholing on Fones Road between the Woodland Trail and Pacific Avenue SE. Potholing is a process used to confirm the location of underground utility services. This work is expected to continue through the evening of Thursday, January 30.

What to Expect During this Work
  • Crews will be working between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
  • Uniformed police officers will direct traffic at the intersection of Fones Road SE and Pacific Avenue SE during this work.
  • Fones Road will remain open, and business access will be maintained during this work.

Project Background
This project will transform Fones Road into a safer corridor. It will add sidewalks and crossings for pedestrians, separated bike lanes, an improved trail crossing, improvements for vehicle flow and truck access, and lighting. Landscaping, new pavement, and upgraded utilities are also part of the project.
