Neighborhood Opportunity Fund Grant Would Support West Garfield Park Business Hub

A $6 million entrepreneurship center would be developed in West Garfield Park through a Neighborhood Opportunity Fund (NOF) grant proposed to City Council today by Mayor Brandon Johnson.

TruDelta LLC would use the $1.5 million grant to repurpose a 13,100-square-foot building at 4400 W. Madison St. to include offices, business advisory services, event space and a café. The K Entrepreneurship Hub is planned as an extension of Sankofa Wellness Village.

NOF grants are funded by fees paid by downtown construction projects in support of commercial corridor investment on the South, Southwest and West sides. Grant awards exceeding $250,000 require City Council approval.
