Franklin County Schools Roll Out New Safety Alert System for New Year

Franklin County Public Schools opened classes on Aug. 6 with Superintendent Dr. Kevin Siers highlighting school safety as a top priority. The district is replacing its outgoing Intrado emergency alert system with Raptor Badge Alert, a discreet, wearable emergency notification solution that combines instant alert activation with powerful communication capabilities teachers can use to signal threats like a campus intruder. The district also plans to pursue grants for further safety upgrades, including a possible weapons detection system.
