Fatal crash investigation in West Des Moines

First responders in West Des Moines are investigating a crash on Interstate 35 near the EP True Parkway overpass. The first call came around 1:17 PM with a report of a car being driven the wrong way. The crash was in the southbound lanes which are now closed for investigators.
Police are confirming three vehicles were involved. One driver was fatally injured. The remaining two drivers are reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.
Interstate 35 southbound is closed and traffic is being diverted at the west mixmaster. Police say the closure will remain in place until investigators have finished their work at the scene.
Names of involved drivers are being withheld pending family notification.
