On 11 September 2026, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Igor Sekreta, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uganda to the Republic of Belarus (with residence in Moscow), Moses Kawaaluuko Kizige.
The Deputy Minister shared his assessment of the current state of global affairs. In this regard, he welcomed the growing involvement of African countries on the international stage, including within the UN in the context of its reform. He spoke in favour of expanding the representation of African nations on the UN Security Council.
The parties discussed priority areas for the development of relations between Belarus and Uganda, as well as with other African countries.
The interlocutors noted their shared approaches to key issues on the global agenda and reaffirmed their readiness to jointly uphold multilateralism and promote the strengthening of a multipolar system of international relations based on the principles of mutual respect and consideration for the interests of all states.
Igor Sekreta commended Uganda's active role as Chair of the Non-Aligned Movement.
