Contra Costa County - For the safety of the motoring public and our crews Caltrans Construction has scheduled full closures for ongoing paving operations on State Route 4 (SR-4), spanning from Hillcrest Avenue to Byron Highway to apply the final layer of Rubberized Hot Mix Asphalt (RHMA). Full closures of SR-4 in both east and westbound directions will be implemented Tonight, 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2026, in the City of Brentwood between Lone Tree Way, to Walnut Boulevard until 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
Please note: All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers should note that Lane and ramp closure will continue to take place on SR-4 every Sunday through Thursday night between the hours of 7:00 PM to 8:00 AM .
